Many young children live with a food allergy, however, research suggests that they tend to struggle with managing their allergies independently due to their reliance on their caregivers. How can we teach and encourage children to manage their allergies as they become independent and responsible for their own health?

The project ‘Hide and Seek’ is an awareness campaign that communicates the importance of being able to check for allergens in packaged food for children with allergies to stay safe. It does so by reframing the narrative around food allergies by expressing this management strategy as a fun game of hide and seek, where children need to find the allergens that are hiding in their food. Through this, it aims to make food allergy management and awareness more accessible and memorable for a younger audience. The campaign features touchpoints including point-of-purchase marketing and an educational app with an augmented reality feature to effectively engage the audience of 4-8 year old children and their parents. The touchpoints are tied together with a fun and playful brand identity to attract this target audience.
